Mobile Library Manager

Become part of an awesome team at the Lancaster Community Library to provide wonderful library services to our area! LCL is accepting applications for a Mobile Library Manager, to lead its outreach programming and provide programming, books and technology throughout our community.  Driving and operating a new state of the art Mobile Library, the Manager will have excellent customer service skills and will generate community participation in programs that promote an interest in reading for youth and their parents, seniors and those who cannot get to the Library. Outreach to senior facilities, day care centers, schools, and community groups and events are primary activities. Scheduling, budgeting, overseeing Mobile Library Assistants, and maintaining and improving the efficiency and effectiveness are all areas under their direction and control. Library experience and education; or teaching or daycare/senior facility experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience are required. The successful candidate must have the ability to work in concert with the Library administrative staff, available to work during the week and on Saturdays, to have knowledge of technology including computers, mobile devices, ebooks and Google Suite, to lift up to 30 pounds, to stand for long periods of time, to move book trucks and operate the mechanical and electronic mechanisms of the Mobile Library. A valid Driver’s License with a good driving record is required. Those under final consideration for appointment will be required to pass a drug test and to authorize the release of and successfully complete a criminal background check. This is a full-time salaried position with benefits that reports to the Library Director.
