Teen Center Director - The Lancaster Community Library seeks a dynamic, creative, positive, energetic, people-person to work primarily with teens in the library.  The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years’ experience working with teens in a library or similar environment; have excellent communication skills with all people and especially youth; be friendly, approachable, customer-focused, and open-minded with a genuine passion for working with teens; be able to establish positive working relationships with coworkers, library users, and community organizations; be comfortable with technology; be able to function as a team member as well as work independently.  Duties include developing and implementing programs for teens; networking with community organizations; advocate and empower youth in-house and in our community; becoming familiar with and make recommendations for Teen Center collections, materials, and technology; work with all library patrons; and seek and implement grant funding with the library team. Must have ability to work evenings and occasional weekends when teens are not in school. Must be able to pass a background check. Assistant to Technology Specialist, Lancaster Community Library - Assist patrons, staff and volunteers in using the Library's computers, internet, WiFi and other technology, and teach classes. Will report to the Technology Specialist.  Successful applicants must have broad knowledge of networked computer systems, the Internet, technology, online trends and popular culture. Must possess excellent customer service skills and sensitivity to the needs of a diverse customer group. Critical skills include problem solving, negotiating, training, multi-tasking, troubleshooting, and handling stressful situations in a positive manner. Ability to bring positive energy, excellent interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity and a sense of humor to the workplace. A high school diploma or equivalent is required with two years of public customer service experience, and two years of technology support or training experience preferred. Schedule will be determined by the needs of the library and may include occasional evening and weekend hours for 12-15 hours weekly.
