When is the Library open?
Monday 10-8, Tuesday 10-8, Wednesday 10-8, Thursday 10-8, Friday 10-5, Saturday 10-5. The Library is closed on Sundays except for special events, and on New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Memorial Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day (the day after Christmas).

How many books can I check out?
Typically patrons can check out up to 50 books; there are limits on some other materials. Books can be checked out for 3 weeks at a time.

Can I reserve a book?
Yes. Patrons can reserve books or other materials by completing and submitting a form online or at the Circulation Desk.

Can I check out other materials like DVDs or other electronic media?
Yes. Some materials are treated like books and can be checked out for 3 weeks; others must be returned sooner.

Can I bring my computer to the Library and connect to the Internet?
Yes. There is no charge for this service, but patrons must abide by the library’s rules for computer use.

Does the Library have computers I can use?
The Library has computers for public use. 

Are there programs for children and teens?
Yes. The Lancaster Library has several recurring programs and additional special events for children aged  newborn through 17 years.

Do you have special events like lectures or book discussions?
The Library sponsors a book club, a lecture series, local author book signings, and special events geared to appeal to patrons with wide-ranging interests.

Are there opportunities to volunteer at the Library?
The Library has constant need for volunteers to check out books, re-shelve materials, assist with publicity and special events, work at book sales, and handle dozens of other tasks that must be accomplished to keep the Library running efficiently.
